    CLUB COMMITMENT

The 2011/2012 fee is $700 plus a refundable $60 jersey fee..  Please note that our gym time fee's have increased this year so to off-set the cost we have decided to collect the jersey's at the end of the year.  When the jersey is turned in at the end of the year the $60 jersey fee will be refunded.
Please bring your checkbooks to tryouts, 2 checks will be collected at signing, $380 which will be cashed on November 16th and a check of $380, to be cashed on February 15th. Payments must be received at the time of signing, there will be no exceptions. If you are not selected to a team, the checks will be shredded.

All checks are made payable to
    “BVC”
    (NOT Blazer Volleyball Club)
Do not pay North Country Region Fees. They are built into the club’s price and will be paid all together.

The season will run from December through middle of April.  Practice will be twice a week for 1:45-2:00 per night.  Practices are currently on the volleyball calendar link on the website.  There will be 7 scheduled tournaments though out the year, on average once every other week.  We will not participate in the President's Festival or any other two day events.

Since we are a smaller club we like to balance volleyball commitment to everyone's life outside of volleyball.  We ask that each player understand that their absence from a practice or event is hard on all the other players and coaches, yet we can understand that every player cannot make every scheduled BVC event.

    SELECTION PROCESS

Our tryouts are only one night so attendance is mandatory. Please notify the club director in advance, if possible, regarding an anticipated absence during the tryout period. If a player is missing on the final tryout date without prior notification to the club director or coaching staff, the player will be removed from consideration for a spot on a team within the club.

Teams are formed as fairly as possible. The club must take into consideration the availability of gym space and qualified coaching staff. Availability of teams will vary according to the number of tryout participants, players age, and skill level.

USA Volleyball Age Divisions: 17 and under Division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1994.
16 and under Division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1995.
15 and under Division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1996.
14 and under Division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1997.
13 and under Division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1998.
12 and under Division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1, 1999.
(age 10-11 play in the 12 & under division)

Age divisions are mandated by NCR Volleyball (governing body) and are not negotiable – no waivers are accepted. Look for month and year of birth in the list to determine proper age division. Players can play up a division but cannot play down a division.

    CUT PROCESS

As much as we do not want to cut any player, it is often times unavoidable given the response we have each year. Across the entire club, players are trying out to fill the available teams.

Thankfully, our Club continues to have an overwhelming response of participants at our tryouts – due to our great coaching staff and reputation for great training and family atmosphere.

We will only be able to retain teams in our club based on the number of qualified coaches to staff teams and available gym times allotted to the BVC.

At the tryout all the BVC coaches will evaluate the players and rate them accordingly. Using the tryout ratings by position and ability, players will be placed into teams of approximate equal skill. We stress a high level of play by limiting the teams to a total of 10-12 players.

On the tryout date teams will be finalized by the respective coaches for that team. *The teams will be posted by Thursday of the week of tryouts.

*If a player declines a position on a team and openings occur, the next player on the list will be contacted by the club director and offered participation in the club.

All players that are selected for a team should attend the player/parent meeting on ____ with the coaches. We will use the meeting to verify uniform size, assign uniform numbers, order warm-ups, hand out practice and tournament schedule and discuss other details for the first practice which will be December.
